Drugs Seized In Malaysia

Drugs worth 6000,000 Malaysian Ringits were seized by enforcement officers recently in Malyasia. They are suspected to contain poisons and are not registered with the Ministry of Health. They were all seized during raids.

Dr. Ahmad Mahmud, the deputy director of Pharmaceutical Services said that all the 500 types of drugs were recovered at 20 premises. Mahmud told the reporters that the products that are seized include products that were imported without a permit from China and Thailand. 

He said that the three-day operation involved 50 enforcement officers and also the police. Mahmud, at a coffee mill in Batu Berendam said that the officers have found out that a poison containing sildenafil was added to the coffee powder.

Sildenafil is a drug that is put into use to correct erectile dysfunction and is the active ingredient in Viagra the wonder impotence drug. He stated that Sildenafil is given under a doctor’s prescription and can lead to serious results for heart and diabetics patients if administered incorrectly.
